This Monte Carlo is “Numbers Matching,ā meaning the engine in the car is the correct original unit that was installed new at the factory. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad. The car is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combinations of Gobi Beige over Black. Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information below to get a true sense of clean, nice, and original this Chevrolet Monte Carlo really is.
As a side note, this Monte Carlo is not a dealer auction vehicle. We handpick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Chevrolet, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Gobi Beige exterior is in spectacular condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has an excellent gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut well and feel great when you close them. The chrome and other bright-work on the car looks great overall with no pitting. The authentic chrome Cragar wheels are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash on the beauty rings. The Mickey Thompson white letter tires have plenty of tread left. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car it is exceptionally clean underneath. We have included specific photos of the lower quarters, rockers, spring perches, and other areas most prone to rust to show how clean this car is. The Monte Carlo looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.
Interior
The black interior of the Monte Carlo is in utterly splendid condition. The seat looks just as great in person as they do in the photos with no split seams, tears, or excessive wear. The seat is not worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the gauge lenses are crystal clear. The carpet is also in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The door panels are in great condition with no cracks or splits and the door pulls are solid and intact. This car features a modern radio that was made specifically for a 1970 Monte Carlo with a vintage look. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for the installation. The dash looks great with no splits, sun fading, or cracks. The original package tray looks great with no warping, fading, or sun damage. This is one of the best interiors we have ever seen in person in a Monte Carlo and is a true study of how these cars looked from the factory. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed. There is still a spare wheel with the car and the previous owner paid the extra expense to make sure the spare rim is a chrome Cragar to match the rest of the wheels. The decal with the wheel-changing instructions is still on the inside of the trunk lid. Chevrolet interiors from this era are not known to wear well over the years and the spectacular condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care this care has received throughout its life. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.
Mechanical
This Monte Carlo is in excellent mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above, We have put about 20 miles on this car recently with absolutely no problems and it performed great. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. This Monte Carlo is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Monte Carlo has plenty of power. The engine compartment is beautifully clean and highly detailed as one can see in the photos. Everything on this car works properly and it is ready to be driven and enjoyed. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, the blower for the heater and a/c on all speeds. The a/c itself also works and blows cold. One can see the a/c compressor clicking on and engaging properly in the video. All of the gauges work and the clock runs sporadically. All of the warning lights work properly, they go on with the ignition key and then go off as they should when the engine is started. The car has a very healthy exhaust note as one can hear in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. This Monte Carlo runs and drives as well as it looks.
